The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has punished Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos with a five-match suspension.
The 26-year-old footballer illegally stopped an opponent during Wednesday's match against Celta Vigo and received a second yellow card.
After the Copa del Rey match, S. Ramos apologized for the incident, but the federation still decided to punish the Spaniard severely.
The Royal club defender will miss two Copa del Rey quarterfinal matches against Valencia and three La Liga matches against Osasuna, Getafe, and the same Valencia team.
Jose Mourinho will have to cope in the upcoming matches without the experienced center-back, but Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao should already be on the field.
