The most productive player of the Lithuanian championship Artūras Rimkevičius will be able to gain experience from the extravagant Italian Paolo Di Canio.
According to reports, the 29-year-old Lithuanian will soon sign a contract with the "Swindon" club, which competes in the third most powerful league in England. This team has been coached by the famous Di Canio since 2011. Officially, this should be announced after the Lithuanian arranges the necessary documents.
It was believed that Rimkevičius would continue his career in the Scottish "Premier" league team "Hearts" in Edinburgh, but due to delayed wages, the club was banned from registering new players.
In the classification of the most productive world football players in 2012 announced by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), Rimkevičius, scoring 35 goals in 29 matches in the Lithuanian Championship, took the third place. He was only surpassed by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the third league, "Swindon" is currently in fifth place out of 24 teams after 26 rounds and is fighting for promotion to a higher division.
