C.Ronaldo: I am happy and I want to stay in "Real" club at least until the end of the contract © EuroFootball.com

Unsuccessful leader of Madrid's "Real" playing this season, Cristiano Ronaldo, stated that he would like to stay among the champions of Spain at least until his contract ends, and besides, the Portuguese defended his compatriot and "Los Blancos" coach Jose Mourinho.

The 27-year-old forward denied rumors that in the near future he might move to another club, stating that he would like to stay in the "Real" team until at least the summer of 2015 - until the current contract of the football star with last year's "La Liga" champions expires.

"I want to play in Madrid until the end of my contract - I am completely sure of that. What will happen after that, I do not know, I cannot predict the future. Am I happy? Honestly, I am - I do what I like and enjoy it every day," the Portuguese is quoted as saying on the fifa.com website.

Recently, rumors appeared in the press that the wealthy "Paris Saint-Germain" club is interested in acquiring C.Ronaldo. The forward transferred to the "Real" team for a record sum of money, 97 million euros, in 2009 from "Manchester United" and earns about 10 million euros per year. It is reported that the Madrid team hopes to extend the contract with the Portuguese for a longer period and offers about 15 million euros in annual earnings, but negotiations have not yet been concluded.

"People often protest and express dissatisfaction, which must be respected, however, I believe they should be patient with J.Mourinho. He is a person who wants only the best for the team and would fight to the death to defend his club. Everyone in the team knows that, but we must also respect the fans' opinion. In my opinion, he is the best coach, with a lot of experience and having won everything he could win," C.Ronaldo defended "Real" coach J.Mourinho.

Lately, J.Mourinho has been receiving a lot of criticism not only from "Real" fans but also from the press. Especially harsh criticism comes from the usually pro-Madrid Spanish sports newspaper "Marca". C.Ronaldo also faces no less criticism and conflicting evaluations, stating that he has learned to live with it.

"I do not know why I am considered a controversial figure. I cannot confidently answer this question because I often ask myself the same. People who know me and have played with me know who I am. Those who do not know can say and think anything. You just have to learn to live with it, as criticism is part of every footballer's career," C.Ronaldo said.

On Saturday, "Real" club failed to beat the outsider "Osasuna" in the "Primera" league matches and is 7 points behind second-placed Madrid "Atletico", and a whopping 18 points behind the leader "Barcelona". In the recent matches, C.Ronaldo did not play due to yellow cards, but this year he has already scored 28 goals for the team in all competitions.
