The coach of the "Genoa" team competing in the Italian "Serie A" football championship, Gigi Del Neri, lost his job after his team lost 0-2 to the "Cagliari" club. The 62-year-old Del Neri had been coaching the club for only 13 games since October, but managed to achieve only two victories and suffered 9 defeats. The team nicknamed "Grifone" fell into the relegation zone, trailing three points behind the higher-placed "Cagliari" club. "Genoa" president Enrico Preziosi has now sacked the third coach since the end of last season, when Alberto Malesani lost his job and was replaced by Luigi Di Canio. The latter was sacked at the beginning of the season in October, when G.Del Neri was appointed. Davide Ballardini will replace him as the new coach, and will be introduced to the press and fans on Monday. Since taking over the management of the club in 2003, E.Preziosi has already changed twelve head coaches. Fans and football experts believe that the unpredictable behavior of the manager is the reason for poor results, but the president sees it differently. The new coach of "Genoa" will soon face a very serious test. In the upcoming matches, "Genoa" will face the league leaders - Turin's "Juventus" and Rome's "Lazio".
