On Tuesday afternoon, the French champions "Montpellier" sold one of their leaders, the center-back Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, who will now wear the "Newcastle" jerseys.
Rumors about a possible transfer of the footballer spread a few days ago, and on Tuesday morning the media reported that the player is already undergoing a medical examination at the "Newcastle" club.
The official transfer fee is currently unknown, but according to press reports it is around 9 million euros, as in the summer the French club agreed with the player on extending the contract, with the condition that he would be allowed to leave.
In the summer of 2012, M.Yanga-Mbiwa was linked with a move to the "Milan" club, where he would have replaced Thiago Silva who left for PSG.
From the youth academy to the main "Montpellier" team, the versatile footballer moved in the summer of 2007 and has since played 210 matches.
