Until the end of the winter transfer window, London's Chelsea expects to acquire new footballers, according to interim manager Rafael Benitez.
The Spaniard told the media: "We cannot allow players to rest because in some positions we simply do not have enough. I have discussed this with the owner, I was heard and understood. However, for now, I must focus on what I have."
He continued: "Frank Lampard and Ramires must always play because other players are injured, suspended, and two more have gone to the African Cup of Nations tournament. The players are tired, and it shows during matches, especially when we don't have a few days of rest."
Benitez also shared his thoughts on Chelsea's playing style: "We cannot base our game on long passes when we have Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, and Oscar. We need to play with the ball on the ground because we will not change the players' style. We are technically stronger than our opponents, but they are often physically stronger."
This winter, Chelsea acquired one player: Newcastle striker Demba Ba.
