"Barcelona" agreed with Amsterdam's "Ajax" on the loan of forward Isaac Cuenca just before the so-called transfer window closed. The 21-year-old footballer is being loaned to the current Dutch champions until the end of the season. Both the "Barcelona" coaching staff and Cuenca himself agreed that after recovering from a serious injury, it is crucial for the player to gain playing practice, so on Thursday evening the forward arrived at the headquarters of the Catalan club and completed the necessary formalities. Soon after, the fact of the player's loan was confirmed on the official website of Amsterdam's "Ajax." According to reports in the Spanish press, both clubs will pay the player's salary equally, but in the summer, "Ajax" will not have the option to buy out the forward's contract. Cuenca's current contract with "Barcelona" is valid until June 30, 2015. At the end of May last year, the Catalan team's player underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee after suffering a serious meniscus injury at the end of the 2011-2012 season. Since then, the player has started a very long rehabilitation process and only began training with the team gradually in the second half of November. This season, Cuenca has not played in a single official match for "Barcelona."
