On Sunday afternoon, six matches of the 23rd round of the Italian "Serie A" championship were played.
Defending champions Juventus defeated mid-table Chievo away from home. Both goals were scored in the first half, with Alessandro Matri and Stephan Lichtsteiner finding the back of the net. After this victory, "Bianconeri" reclaimed the sole position of league leader.
Inter Milan, sitting in fourth place, had to admit defeat to the last-placed team Siena away from home. Siena emerged victorious with a score of 3-1, and Inter finished the match with ten men after Christian Chivu was sent off in the 55th minute.
Inter's fate also befell Rome's Lazio club. The capital's footballers in third place fell to the Genoa team, sitting in 17th place. Genoa snatched victory in the final minute with a goal scored by veteran Marco Rigoni, ending the match with a score of 3-2.
Fiorentina, in fifth place, secured a solid home victory. "Viola" defeated Parma's footballers 2-0, with goals from Luca Toni and Stevan Jovetic.
