The leaders of the English "Premier" League are starting to tighten the financial rules for clubs.
The teams competing in the country's top league will not be allowed to incur losses exceeding 123 million euros in the next three seasons. According to the latest data, in the recent period only "Man City", "Chelsea", and "Liverpool" reported higher losses.
Additionally, starting from the next season, there will be a limit on the maximum amount of money allocated for players' salaries. It cannot exceed 61 million euros per season, and after three years, it will increase proportionally to 70 million euros. At present, only seven "Premier" League clubs meet this requirement.
The majority of club officials have agreed to these proposals. It is hoped that this will limit billionaires who acquire clubs and invest huge sums in them to achieve quick results. The most notable examples are the owners of "Man City" from the United Arab Emirates and the Russian owner of "Chelsea", Roman Abramovich.
Strict sanctions - point deductions - are imposed for non-compliance.
