Former Glasgow "Celtic" and "Barcelona" striker Henrik Larsson compared the two best footballers in the world in a radio interview. According to the Swede, Real Madrid's leader Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, but he simply did not have the luck to shine as brightly as Lionel Messi does now.

"L. Messi relaxes more on the field and allows himself to enjoy football. He not only impressively controls the ball, is fast and scores goals, but most importantly, he thinks on the field. He never loses his composure and does not succumb to negative emotions. This helps him overcome pressure," Larsson analyzed.

According to the striker, C. Ronaldo is also a very good footballer, but he cannot get rid of psychological complexes and a constant comparison with the eternal leader of "Real," his rival from Barcelona.

"I don't think that they are very different. They are both very good footballers, but C. Ronaldo just did not have the luck, because his career peak coincided with L. Messi's radiance," Larsson named the main reason why the Portuguese player lags behind the Argentine.

"You cannot help but admire L. Messi. When you see him on the field, you start thinking that he came from another planet. Sometimes it seems that he is unstoppable," added the former "Barcelona" player, praising Messi.

However, Larsson admitted that he is most impressed by the game of Barcelona midfielder Xavi.

"I really like L. Messi, but I consider Xavi to be the best footballer of all time. I admire his understanding of football. It's just incredible how he 'reads' the game, distributes the ball, and never loses it. His passing accuracy is close to absolute perfection," the Swede emphasized.
