On Saturday, in the 35th round of the Spanish championship, Madrid's "Real" achieved a crushing victory at home, defeating Santander's "Racing" 5-0.

As usual, in these matches led by V.Luxemburgo, "Real" played with three forwards. In this match, "Real" symbol Raul experienced a true renaissance, scoring two goals and contributing to two more.

From the very beginning of the match, "Real" pressed the opponents and broke their defense in the 25th minute: Ronaldo passed the ball received from Raul to Michael Owen, who easily sent the ball into the net. Less than ten minutes after Raul's pass, Ronaldo himself successfully converted a penalty from 11 meters, scoring his 100th La Liga goal of his career.

In the second half, after ten minutes without a goal, the captain of the Spanish national team Raul scored a goal after a long break: after a perfect pass from the Brazilian Roberto Carlos from the left flank, Raul sent the ball into the net with a strong shot from about 13 meters. In the middle of the second half, the same Raul scored his 250th goal for "Real" and the fourth goal of the match: after a very long attack, Owen passed the ball to the Spaniard, who scored with a left-footed shot.

In the final, fifth goal of the match, towards the end of the match after a pass from Luis Figo, the goalkeeper unable to catch it was scored by the excellent Ronaldo.

The victory was also celebrated by Bilbao's "Athletic", who returned to the fight for a ticket to the next year's UEFA Cup, defeating "Zaragoza" 2-0 at home. The goals for the winners were scored by the recently extended veteran Ismael Urzaiz and Jose Lacruz.

Another match in Pamplona, between "Osasuna" and "Mallorca" ended in a 1-1 draw. The visitors, coached by Hector Cupero, took the lead after Farinos' goal, but less than ten minutes before the end of the match Savo Miloševič equalized the score.

In the last Saturday match, "Betis" narrowly defeated "Sevilla" 1-0 in the Seville derby. The only goal at the start of the match after a goalkeeper's mistake was scored by the Brazilian Ricardo Oliveira, who came from "Valencia" in the summer.
