In front of three thousand spectators in Panevezys (according to the official match protocol 2653), the home team won the first meeting of the leaders of the "A League" championships against FBK. The only winning goal was scored in the 59th minute of the match by the Panevezys team.

A few minutes later, the crowded "Aukstaitija" stadium continued to applaud the Lithuanian football favorite team "Ekranas". After this intense match, the Panevezys team celebrated their eighth consecutive victory.

During the press conference after the match, the head coach of the opposing team, FBK Kaunas, Alexander Piskariovas, spoke calmly.

"The guys tried. In general, there were mistakes, it was a tough game. I would say it was an equal game. Neither team had too many opportunities to score goals. But it was clear that the team that scored first would celebrate the victory. "Ekranas" was more successful," said the coach A. Piskariovas, who has not signed a contract with FBK Kaunas yet.

According to the strategist, the nine-point difference from the championship leader does not scare him at all, as the championship is just beginning to pick up pace. He is more concerned about the overly tense schedule of the championship.

"There is no time to work with the team. We have to keep playing, there is no time to "tighten up" the team. In the last few days I slightly improved the "Kaunas" defense, they learned things they had never heard of," revealed A. Piskariovas to the journalists.

The head coach of "Ekranas," Virginijus Liubsys, positively assessed the organization of the opponent's game.

"Kaunas" played differently this time. They did not give us many opportunities, but today we were more deserving of the victory. When you win, the mood is not bad, I agree with the Kaunas coach that we won in a tough fight, but deservedly," said Liubsys.

When asked what the nine-point gap from Kaunas means for "Ekranas," Liubsys said: "When you need to catch up – nine points is quite a lot, but when you need to maintain a nine-point advantage, nine points are relatively few. I don't look too far into the future, we are thinking about the next matches."

In the last round, "Ekranas" will play at home on May 14 (Saturday) at 18:00. Their opponents will be "Siauliai."
