After holding a press conference on Thursday, "Barcelona" defender Adriano Correia stated that he is satisfied with his performance and expressed his desire to continue defending the colors of the Catalan team.
"I feel really good this season, even though I have experienced some minor injuries. It seems that all health problems are now in the past. The time of crucial battles has come, so I hope that both I and my teammates will be in the best sporting form," said the Brazilian.
An all-round footballer capable of playing in several positions admitted that his competitors for a spot in the starting lineup - Daniel Alves and Jordi Alba - are very capable defenders, but according to Adriano, healthy competition for a spot in the starting eleven has not harmed any team.
"The fact that in the Spanish championship we have gained a solid advantage over Madrid's "Atletico" and "Real" does not mean that we can relax and release the accelerator pedal. There are still many very important matches ahead, so we must be prepared for everything," the defender reminded of the upcoming Champions League match against "Milan".
Adriano also hinted that his representatives are negotiating a contract extension with "Barcelona".
"My desire is to continue playing for Barcelona, so I hope that my agent and the club negotiators will agree on a new contract. I have already told the team leaders that I want to continue playing here," emphasized the footballer.
