"Barcelona" club defender Eric Abidal has been given a doctor's permission to return to the green field once again.
In 2011, the footballer underwent surgery to remove a liver tumor, but later needed to have the affected organ transplanted. The defender played his last match on February 26 last year against the "Atletico" team from Madrid.
The defender started training again in October and returned to training with the team in mid-December. The "Barcelona" club officially announced that after a long rehabilitation period, the footballer will be able to help his team again in the most crucial stage of the season.
"Blaugrana" is currently firmly leading the "Primera" championship and has a solid 12-point lead over the closest pursuers, the footballers of Madrid's "Atletico."
