In recent times, much criticized "Arsenal" strategist Arsene Wenger claims that for the club, sports results are more important than finances.
The "Gunners" for the first time in A. Wenger's era may not reach a place that guarantees participation in next season's Champions League tournament.
Trailing four points behind "Tottenham" in fourth place in the Premier League, "Arsenal" has reportedly shown that Wenger may be able to spend £70 million on new acquisitions in the summer.
If "Arsenal" fails to qualify for the UEFA Champions League tournament, they would also lose an important source of income, but the team's strategist is not concerned about it and claims that sports achievements are more important.
"Financially, we can live without the Champions League. But in sports terms – no. Therefore, in this case, sports achievements are our priority," the Frenchman emphasized.
In the next few days, "Arsenal" was eliminated from the FA Cup tournament and complicated their situation in the Champions League tournament before the return matches, but according to Wenger, it is still possible to climb to the top spots in the Premier League in England.
"We want to finish the season in England solidly. I believe we can compete for higher positions with all clubs, except for Manchester United, which we will not be able to overtake. In the Premier League, we have recently shown a stable game, so everything depends on us," said the Frenchman optimistically.
Also, when asked if he had thought about resigning, the strategist replied: "Never. I've never even thought about it for a second."
A.Wenger has a contract with the club valid until the summer of 2014.
