European Football Association (UEFA) has announced the list of match officials and inspectors for the years 2013-2015. Six representatives from Lithuania are also striving to work at UEFA-organized competitions.

UEFA appoints a match delegate for all its matches, and when necessary, also referees' inspectors, stadium and security officials, doping control officials, match directors, and media representatives. Experienced football managers from various European countries are appointed to these positions with appropriate expertise.

The match delegates from Lithuania for the 2013-15 season will continue to be Tomas Karpavicius (men's competitions) and Vaiva Zizaite (women's competitions).

UEFA match delegates are the official representatives at UEFA-organized matches and serve as sort of match leaders. They preside over organizational meetings before matches, are responsible for the compliance with all competition regulations and order at the stadium.

Four more Lithuanians have been confirmed as candidates for the respective positions, which they can occupy after participating in UEFA courses.

Ausra Kanca and Paulius Malžinskas, members of the Lithuanian Football Referees Association, are candidates for the positions of UEFA referees' inspectors.

The main task of UEFA referees' inspectors is to evaluate the work of referees in UEFA competition matches.

Meanwhile, Vladimiras Buzmakovas, head of the Stadium Department of the Lithuanian Football Federation, and Laurynas Zibolis, head of the Licensing Department, are candidates to be appointed as match directors.

UEFA match directors are responsible for the sporting part of the competitions. They are usually appointed for large-scale matches (e.g. European Championship, UEFA Champions League, main tournaments of the Europa League).
