Rafael Benitez confirmed that he will not stay at London's Chelsea club after this season ends.
In November, the Spanish coach took over the team from Roberto Di Matteo and after a victory in the England FA Cup against Middlesbrough, he didn't hide his anger while talking to journalists.
"I was appointed as interim coach and I consider it a big mistake," said Benitez. "I am a professional and will work my job to the end, and after the season ends, I will leave."
The specialist also didn't spare bitter words for Chelsea fans, who more often booed the coach than supported the team since his appointment. The same happened during Wednesday's match.
"I am disappointed with some of the fans. They should support the team, not waste time making insulting posters or chanting chants," the strategist emphasized. "They don't need to worry, I will leave."
And he continued: "If we don't win the English champion title, we must secure a place in the Champions League. And such singing by the fans and constant complaining definitely won't help. I like working here, despite the constant rumors about emerging problems."
