Even after stepping down from the role of strategist, Sir Alex Ferguson does not want to leave Manchester United. The 71-year-old coach stated that when he finishes his coaching career, he would like to take the position of club director.

Sir Ferguson has been a vital part of Manchester United since as far back as 1986. There is even a statue of him unveiled next to the Old Trafford stadium.

"They won't get rid of me. I will probably become a director," Sir Ferguson told "24/7 Football" magazine, stating that he has not yet decided which way his path should lead.

"No one knows -" said Sir Ferguson, who assured that the decision about his successor will be made by the club. "They will ask me, but I think it will be the club's decision, not mine."
