Yesterday in Russia, at the Moscow "Spartak" stadium, during the so-called elite stage of the European U-19 Championship, the Lithuanian national team led by Saulius Vertelis lost 0-2 to their Norwegian peers.

For an hour, the Lithuanians managed to defend against their opponents' attacks, but then they conceded two goals in the span of ten minutes and had to admit the Scandinavians' superiority.

In the other elite stage matches, the young Ukrainian footballers defeated the Russian hosts 1-0.

During the elite stage, countries are divided into seven groups, with the winners earning a ticket to the European Championship in Northern Ireland.

On Friday, in the second round of matches, Norway will play against Ukraine, while Lithuania will face Russia.
