Artūras Rimkevičius, the best footballer playing in Lithuania last year, officially joined "Ekranas" near Panevėžys. The 29-year-old striker signed a 2-year contract with the Lithuanian champions club.
In the 2012 A Lyga season, A. Rimkevičius broke the all-time record of productivity in Lithuanian football, scoring an impressive 35 goals in one season.
The majority of his career, the newcomer to "Ekranas", was spent in Lithuania, where he played for FBK "Kaunas", "Šilutė", "Atletas", "Tauras", "Nevėžis", "Vėtra" teams, and ended the last season with success in Šiauliai.
A. Rimkevičius also tasted the life of a foreign player - in 2006 and 2008 he represented the Liepaja "Metalurgs" club, then played in Finland a year later, and in 2010 signed a contract with the Greek Tripolis "Asteras" club. The following year he was loaned to the first division club PAO Ethnikos Piraeus.
In 2010, A. Rimkevičius made his debut for the Lithuanian national team and played a total of 7 matches, scoring 3 goals.
