The goalkeeper of the Lithuanian national football team, Emilijus Zubas, on Saturday in the "Ekstraklasa" match in Poland against the "Slask" team at home kept the goal dry for the fifth consecutive time, contributing to a long-awaited victory - the opponents in fifth place were defeated with a score of 1:0.

If when E.Zubas had just arrived in Belchatow, live matches were watched by only a few thousand spectators, on Saturday there were many more. One of the main reasons was the sensational performance of E.Zubas and the unbeaten streak starting from his arrival as a Lithuanian in the "GKS" matches. After four consecutive 0:0 draws, the fans were hoping for a victory and they got it - after a fierce battle, the Belchatow footballers defeated the "Slask" team, who were in a high fifth position.

The only goal was scored in the 58th minute from the penalty spot by Lukaszas Madej, and "Slask" finished the match with ten men.

In these matches, E.Zubas had to save the "GKS" club in very extreme situations more than once, but our goalkeeper played impeccably once again.

E.Zubas' performance - five clean sheets in matches right after arriving in the team is a Polish record, no foreign goalkeeper has managed to start so impressively in the "Ekstraklasa" championship. Moreover, "GKS" fans do not remember such a series of unbeaten matches and goals not conceded. At least not recently.

It is not surprising that such a performance by E.Zubas in Poland attracts a lot of attention. Already after the away game in Poznan, many Polish newspapers wrote about E.Zubas, and his performance was constantly discussed on television shows. It remains only to guess what kind of "Zubomania" will start after this victory.

However, "GKS" still remains in the relegation zone in the tournament table and with 13 points is only one point ahead of "Podbeskidzie".
