Two stars of the previous season's UEFA Champions League winners, Maniche and Costinha, will move to the Moscow "Dynamo" club this summer.
"We paid 16 million euros for Maniche and 4 million euros for Costinha," Dynamo president Alexei Fedorychev told the newspaper "Sport-Express." "They will be presented at a press conference on May 25."
Both stars of the Portuguese national team, who helped their country reach the final of the 2004 European Championship, have signed five-year contracts with the Moscow club, but will officially become club members only on July 1.
Both Portuguese players will join a large community of Portuguese-speaking players in the Russian capital: last summer, Dynamo attracted Porto striker Derlei for 7.5 million euros, as well as six players from various Portuguese clubs, including Maniche's brother Jorge.
Dynamo's president also announced that they have already reached an agreement with Greek national star Giorgos Seitaridis. Fedorychev stated that the Greek player will cost the club 10 million euros.
Fedorychev, often compared to Roman Abramovich, the Russian owner of Chelsea, for his penchant for spending impressive sums, has already spent around 60 million euros on new players since acquiring the club.
Fedorychev himself stated his intention to spend around another hundred million euros in the next two years and make Dynamo one of the most powerful clubs not only in Russia, but also in Europe.
Despite the impressive transfers before the season, Dynamo, led by Oleg Romantsev, is currently only in eighth place after 7 rounds in the Russian championship.
