On its official website, "Manchester City" announced that the main squad midfielder Yaya Toure has extended his contract until 2017.

The 29-year-old Ivory Coast national team player recently expressed his intention to leave Manchester, but today Y. Toure put his signature on a new contract.

"I want to continue winning titles and trophies. I enjoy spending time here - it's a fantastic club, always supported by the fans regardless of the final results," said the African.

Under the old contract, the midfielder earned 150 thousand pounds sterling per week, but now Y. Toure will accumulate 220 thousand pounds sterling, including bonuses.

The footballer joined the "Citizens" team in 2010. In less than three seasons, the former "Barcelona" midfielder has played 123 matches and scored 27 goals.
