Over the past few years, "Manchester City" strategist Roberto Mancini, who has spent millions of pounds, insists that the English champions must prepare for another spending marathon this summer if they want to compete with the "Manchester United" team.

Despite having one of the most expensive squads in the Premier League, R. Mancini believes that "Manchester City" needs to strengthen, otherwise they will be left behind "Manchester United" next year.

Currently, the "Manchester City" team is fifteen points behind Alex Ferguson's team.

"We are not like "Manchester United". They have a long and glorious history, so we need many years to be able to compete with that. We must improve the team every year and we need to buy players in the summer who can do that. We need important players. We have set goals for the summer and are working on it. I don't know how much we can spend, but in the past "Manchester United" spent a lot of money on important players. Now they don't need to spend 100 million pounds every year," explained R. Mancini.

"Manchester United" is a top-level team and they just need to buy one good player every year. Our situation is different. We have to buy now and maybe in four years we can afford to buy only one player. It's hard to say how much we will spend. We might find a player we need and spend just a million. We want to spend less, but whenever we try to buy a player, the price is huge. We want to spend less money, but it just doesn't work that way," pressured R. Mancini, the owner of "Manchester City" club.
