Former vice president of London's "Arsenal" club, David Dein, is convinced that the team's strategist Arsene Wenger is ready to spend large amounts of money to acquire new players.
D. Dein held the position of vice president at the club from 1983 until 2007. After disagreements with the club's management, he left the team. Interestingly, since his departure, "Arsenal" has not won any titles.
Earlier this February, the former club vice president stated that Wenger would never pay for world-class footballers, but in an interview with "The Sun," Dein expressed a different opinion.
"The fact is that the team needs strengthening and I know that Wenger will do that. He has been a coach for 30 years and I believe he is one of the best in the world in this field," Dein said.
"He knows what he wants and can identify talented players. This season has been tough, but I am a fan of Wenger. He does his job excellently and still has the passion to continue."
"The team hopes not to lose their spot in the Champions League. However, currently, 'Arsenal' is trailing behind the leading 'United' by 20 points, which is a poor performance," said the former team leader.
According to the press, the main target for "Arsenal" this summer is "Fiorentina" forward Stevan Jovetic.
