"I always said that I would like to play in the Spanish league," says 20-year-old Julian Draxler, representing the "Schalke" club from Gelsenkirchen. "I am proud to know that Madrid's 'Real' is interested in me. It would be a dream come true," the German told marca.com journalists.
J. Draxler is currently one of the most fashionable players in the German Bundesliga. This season, his talent has blossomed and he has become the team's leader, leading "Schalke" to the Champions League. "This year is going great for me, I have already scored eight goals in the Bundesliga," the football player says.
Representing the Gelsenkirchen club is a real honor for Julian. He remembers growing up with this team, watching their games, and strongly supporting them with his family. The German is satisfied with his current situation, but at the same time does not shy away from questions about the future, and has clear priorities: "I always said that I want to play in Spain. Every weekend I try to watch how 'Real' and 'Barcelona' play. I never miss the clashes of these two football giants."
When asked if he would like to play in the Spanish capital, he does not beat around the bush: "This team is big, one of the best in the world, and I am proud that they like my style of play. To play in Madrid is my dream."
In addition, other major European clubs are also interested in the German.
Despite his young age, J. Draxler already represents the German national team. Among his team friends is "Real" player Mesut Ozil, with whom the young German football talent occasionally chats. "I like being next to him. We often talk, I ask about life in Madrid. Mesut tells me that he really likes it there," Julian talks about his teammate.
The contract with "Schalke" is signed until 2016, and when asked by journalists if we can expect to see him in the Spanish league soon, the football player answers "maybe."
