The views of the coaches and leaders of the Catalan club, who are considering the plans for forming the team of the next season, are increasingly turning towards Valencia goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, report the Catalan newspapers "Sport" and "El Mundo Deportivo".

Midweek Champions League matches are not taking place this week, so "Barca" head coach Tito Vilanova and sports director Andoni Zubizarreta met to discuss future priorities in the summer player market.

According to the mentioned publications, the Catalan team first intends to look for a new goalkeeper. As known, current goalkeeper Victor Valdes did not want to sign a new contract with Barcelona and may leave the team after this season, although the Catalan's contract is still valid for another year.

Despite the fact that the media mentions possible candidates to replace V. Valdes such as Thibaut Courtois from Madrid's Atletico, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen from Mönchengladbach's Borussia, Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm, and a few other contenders, the Catalan club leaders would most like the 26-year-old V. Guaita to take the spot in goal. This is not opposed by the head coach T. Vilanova.

This season, V. Guaita, who has defended the Valencia goal in 19 matches, is competing for a place in the starting lineup against the much more experienced Diego Alves."
