Next season, Chilean Manuel Pellegrini could take over the reins of the London club "Chelsea," announces the English press.

The capital's team is seeking a specialist to replace the Spaniard Rafael Benitez, who is currently temporarily leading the team. According to reports, one of the main candidates at the moment is the former famous South American footballer Pellegrini, who is currently coaching "Malaga."

The experienced 59-year-old specialist has a valid contract with the Spanish team, so in order to terminate it, "Chelsea" would have to pay approximately 4 million euros in compensation.

During his more than two-decade coaching career, Pellegrini has managed such famous clubs as "San Lorenzo," "River Plate," "Villarreal," and Madrid's "Real." He arrived in Malaga in 2010 and this season was just a goal away from reaching the Champions League semi-finals, but in the crucial match, Malaga lost to Borussia Dortmund in added time.

Next season, due to financial obligations, "Malaga" will not participate in European cup tournaments, despite currently occupying fifth place in the Spanish championship.
