Jose Mourinho admitted that the overwhelming victory of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semifinal match was well deserved.
The Madrid-based team coached by the Portuguese had nothing to offer against the powerful Germans and lost 1-4 away, although the score was level after the first half.
"I think Borussia was a much better team," said the specialist. "They won every duel, were physically and psychologically stronger, so they deserved the victory.
"How did the result turn from 1-1 to 4-1? I don't know. It only took a few minutes. We lost the ball in crucial moments and couldn't cope with the opponents transitioning from defense to attack and fast counterattacks."
Mourinho praised Robert Lewandowski, who scored four goals: "We knew everything about him, every detail, and still allowed him to score three goals practically unchallenged. I am very disappointed. He deserves praise for what he did, but we must admit that we helped him a lot to earn the title of the best player of the match."
And he added: "When we lose but don't deserve it, it's a drama for me, but I can accept a deserved defeat. Also, I believe that we can bounce back in Madrid."
