The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) has named London "Tottenham" leader Gareth Bale as the player of the season and the best young player.
He became only the third player in history to win these titles in the same season. Andy Gray and Cristiano Ronaldo can be proud of this achievement.
The Welsh player in the English Premier League scored 19 times. In the last 17 matches, he punished opponents' goalkeepers with 14 goals.
After receiving the awards, the footballer stated that it was a huge honor and thanked the team's coach Andre Villas-Boas: "There were really many famous names on the list of candidates, so without my teammates, I definitely wouldn't have achieved this. They were fantastic this year, as well as the coach. Of course, these accolades wouldn't mean anything if the team wasn't successful."
Also nominated for the player of the year title were Robin van Persie, Luis Suarez, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, and Michael Carrick. Bale also made it to the symbolic PFA eleven.
PFA team of the year: David De Gea ("Manchester United"), Pablo Zabaleta ("Manchester City"), Jan Vertonghen ("Tottenham"), Rio Ferdinand ("Manchester United"), Leighton Baines ("Everton"), Michael Carrick ("Manchester United"), Juan Mata ("Chelsea"), Gareth Bale ("Tottenham"), Eden Hazard ("Chelsea"), Luis Suarez ("Liverpool"), Robin van Persie ("Manchester United").
