Before the Champions League return match against Bayern, the Barcelona squad is facing a few more losses.
It was revealed that defender Sergio Busquets has still not fully recovered, as he has been complaining of skull pains recently and as a result did not play in the Spanish championship match against Athletic Bilbao. In the same match, defender Eric Abidal strained a muscle in his thigh. Barcelona's head coach Tito Vilanova did not include both of these players in the team's application for the match against Bayern.
Barcelona's medical staff have still not given clearance for Javier Mascherano to play at full strength, as it is now clear that he will not appear on the field on Wednesday. Due to injury, Barcelona's captain Carles Puyol is also unable to play.
Defender Jordi Alba will also have to miss the second leg of the semi-final. In the match in Munich, the Catalan received a yellow card, exceeded the warning limit, and is disqualified.
