On Wednesday, the last semi-final match of the LFF Cup was played.
For the second time at the "Gytarių" stadium, local team "Šiauliai" and Panevėžys "Ekranas" faced off. The hosts secured a ticket to the final.
In the first half, the game was even and both teams had almost the same amount of opportunities, but the "Ekranas" players played slightly sharper.
In the second half, the game remained the same. Although the result did not satisfy the Lithuanian champions, the Šiauliai team started to play more dangerously.
The hope of the "Ekranas" team was shattered in the 74th minute by the most effective player of "Šiauliai" George Alaverdashvili, with a great pass from Marko Raša.
Shortly after, another goal fell into the away team's net, when Rokas Urbelis scored in the 79th minute.
However, the "Ekranas" managed to soften the result. A consolation goal was scored by Artūras Rimkevičius, who came on as a substitute.
It is worth noting that the "Šiauliai" team will face the capital team Vilnius "Žalgiris" in the final of the LFF Cup. The match will take place on May 19, and will be watched by UEFA president Michel Platini.
