Munich's "Bayern" strategist Jupp Heynckes did not spare his praise for his pupils, who on Wednesday at the "Camp Nou" stadium crushed the health-problem-ridden Lionel Messi's "Barcelona" club 3-0.
The German champions, who will face Dortmund's "Borussia" in the final on May 25, defeated their opponents with a total score of 7-0 - the biggest difference in the history of Champions League semi-finals.
"I think it was obvious that we played with exceptional concentration," Heynckes said. "From the first minute, we demonstrated the kind of football we needed to play. The players understood the tactical instructions and executed them perfectly. Perhaps no one expected a victory by such a margin.
"I know Spanish football very well, especially the style and philosophy of 'Barcelona.' However, it is pointless to deny that 'Barcelona' with and without Lionel Messi are different teams."
"Bayern" captain Philipp Lahm reaffirmed to the coach: "Tonight we will celebrate by drinking a few glasses of beer, because not everyone can win 3-0 against 'Barcelona' away. But I have always said that we have special players who can achieve great victories."
