The head coach of Barcelona, Tito Vilanova, denied the rumors in the media about a possible departure of Cesc Fabregas. Recently, it was announced that the midfielder could return to Arsenal in London, while Italian newspapers claimed that AC Milan was interested in the 26-year-old Catalan.
However, the Catalan club's strategist, during a press conference held on Saturday, did not pay attention to such rumors.
"Cesc is a top-level player and he is very beneficial to the team. I understand very well that after such a loss as we experienced in the match against Bayern, many start to get angry, look for culprits, and start speculating about the future of the footballers," emphasized T. Vilanova, clearly indicating that Barcelona is not planning to sell their player.
According to the coach, the club made a great effort to bring back C. Fabregas and it was not easy.
"Last year, Cesc was the team's second top scorer, this year he has also scored quite a few goals, which once again confirms his value," noted the 44-year-old specialist.
26-year-old C. Fabregas has a contract with the Catalan club valid until the summer of 2016.
This season, in official matches in all tournaments, the midfielder scored a total of 13 goals and ranks just one goal behind David Villa in this statistic. However, the Catalan scored more goals in the Spanish national championship - 10, while D. Villa scored 8.
