Today, the Spanish club announced that next year the team will be coached by the Chilean former "River Plate" coach Manuel Pellegrini.
The 50-year-old Pellegrini will take over this position from Paquito, who has been coaching the club since Benito Floro unexpectedly resigned in February.
The Chilean resigned from his position as "River Plate" coach last December, after his team unexpectedly lost to the "Cienciano" club from Peru in the final of the South American Cup.
Pellegrini led the Argentine club for a year and a half, but during this whole period the club was in the shadow of its main competitor - "Boca Juniors".
Throughout his career, the future coach of "Villareal" also coached another Argentine club, "San Lorenzo", as well as several minor clubs in Chile and Ecuador.
