The senior coach of Liverpool club Brendan Rodgers denied rumors that this summer Pepe Reina will leave the city of Liverpool and move to another team.
This season the Spanish national team goalkeeper did not escape injuries, but the interest of other clubs remained. The main contenders to acquire P. Reina remain Barcelona.
"The fact that this season was unsuccessful for us creates various rumors about the team's players. I can confidently say that Reina is not for sale," B. Rodgers told journalists.
"He has a three-year contract with Liverpool club. Pepe feels great at the club and it is obvious that he will play for Liverpool next season," added the coach.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper is a product of Barcelona club. This summer, most likely, Victor Valdes will leave the Catalan team, and P. Reina is a candidate to take his place.
However, the player himself recently stated that he would like to end his career at Liverpool.
