Legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, who is leaving the "Manchester United" club after the season, confirmed that Wayne Rooney has asked to leave the club.
The Scottish coach announced on Wednesday about the end of his career, and reportedly, "Man Utd" striker W. Rooney expressed his desire to leave Manchester two weeks ago.
Today, the last Premier League match was played. W. Rooney missed this match.
"I don't think Rooney wanted to play because he mentioned leaving," the strategist said. "At the moment, the club is not in Rooney's thoughts, so it was a good idea not to let him onto the field."
"We are not going to let him leave. I think Rooney was a bit disappointed that he didn't play in the last games because of our decision," Ferguson insisted.
Interviewed at "Old Trafford" stadium, the Scot told BBC journalists: "We refused to let Rooney leave, he still has time to make a decision."
