Pellegrini: I categorically deny that I have been appointed as the coach of "Man City" © EuroFootball.com

Manuel Pellegrini denies having accepted an offer from "Man City" to replace Roberto Mancini as the team's manager.

After the FA Cup final match, in which "Man City" shockingly lost 0-1 to "Wigan", Mancini publicly criticized the club's owners, saying they allow rumors of his dismissal to spread. This circumstance, along with an unsuccessful season, according to the British press, tested the management's patience.

Pellegrini is considered the undeniable favorite to take Mancini's place, currently coaching financially troubled "Malaga," but an agreement has not yet been reached.

"I categorically deny that I am the new 'Man City' coach," Pellegrini is quoted on the "Malaga" website. "I have agreed with the club's leaders not to comment on anything, but I can assure you that no agreements have been reached."

He added: "I am proud to receive interest from various clubs every year. I hope that my future will be clearer in the near future."

Mancini triumphed in the Premier League last season, but this year he failed for the second time in a row to reach the Champions League knockout stages, and in the national championship, he fell short compared to "Man Utd" who reclaimed the title.
