Tito Vilanova claims that this season Barcelona was the best team in the Spanish championship.
After Real Madrid's team, who are in second place, drew 1-1 with Espanyol, the Catalans secured the first place in the championship and the fourth national championship trophy in the last five years.
"Without a doubt, we were the best team in La Liga," said Vilanova. "We knew that at the beginning of the season we had to collect as many points as possible because the favorites usually drop points in the first matches. When everyone was saying that the championship was already won, we showed psychological strength and resisted Real's attempts to reduce the gap."
If Barcelona wins the remaining three matches, they will equal Real's record from last season - 100 points in a season.
"As long as we have the opportunity to do so, we will certainly try," added the coach. "It's just a pity that we couldn't perform better in the Champions League. It will be even harder next year."
