Former Italy national team defender Gennaro Gattuso has been relieved of his duties as the coach of the Swiss club "Sion."
The 35-year-old veteran joined the team at the beginning of the season as a player, but from February he also took on the dual role of player-coach. However, in 11 matches under Gattuso, "Sion" only managed to secure 10 points and currently sits in fifth place in the national championship.
Interestingly, Gattuso was already the fifth coach to take charge of "Sion" this season. Since 2002, when Christian Constantin became the club president, the coach position has changed around thirty times. Twice, Constantin himself took on the role, despite his background in architecture.
