During the official press conference of Real Madrid, it was confirmed that the head coach Jose Mourinho will leave his post after the season.

On Monday evening, the club's president, Florentino Perez, publicly announced the club's decision during a press conference.

This season, Real Madrid failed to win any titles. On Friday, the "whites" competed for the Copa del Rey trophy in front of their fans, but it was the players of Madrid's Atletico who emerged victorious.

For some time, Jose Mourinho's future in Madrid was uncertain. There was little doubt that the Portuguese would leave Spain and return to England, where he is likely to take over as the head coach of Chelsea in London.

"I believe now is the most appropriate time to say that Jose Mourinho will no longer coach the Real Madrid team after this season," F. Perezas said. "We want to thank this coach for his hard work over the past three years. Now all that remains is to wish him success."

"We cannot boast of trophies this season. Real Madrid is held to higher standards, therefore we are dissatisfied, just like the coach himself," added the president.

F. Perezas is cautious when talking about the new coach, but the main candidate to take over the helm of Real Madrid is Carlo Ancelotti, who has publicly hinted at leaving PSG.
