Legendary Zinedine Zidane will be responsible for the acquisition of new football players, says Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
The Frenchman will start his duties as sports director, but for now it is unclear who will be appointed as coach instead of Jose Mourinho.
"We want Zidane to lead our project for the next four years," Perez said. "He will decide what we need to buy and sell."
When asked about the search for a strategist, Perez remained abstract: "Carlo Ancelotti? For now, I don't know who will be appointed. We will talk about it next week. Jurgen Klopp is an excellent specialist, I really like him, but Borussia players are very young compared to our team."
He added: "Players have spoken only in the best words about Mourinho."
