The champion of Spain, "Barcelona", has officially signed a new contract with defender Adriano Correia.

The new 28-year-old Brazilian's contract will be valid for four years, until June 30, 2017. Adriano's previous contract would have expired next summer, but it included the possibility to extend the collaboration for another season.

"Barcelona" coach Tito Vilanova and club officials have repeatedly stated that they are satisfied with the player's quality of play, so the Brazilian was offered not a one-year, but a new four-year contract. The contract includes a release clause of 90 million euros. Any team wishing to acquire the player without direct negotiations with the Catalan club would have to pay this sum.

A. Correia, who can play in defense and midfield, has been representing the Catalonia club since the summer of 2010, when he was acquired from the "Sevilla" team for 9.5 million euros.

Adriano has played a total of 105 official matches and scored 10 goals for "Barcelona" so far.
