The head coach of the Greek national football team Fernando Santos announced the team composition for the 2014 World Cup qualifying match against Lithuania, which will take place in Vilnius on June 7.

The team consists of 21 players, with 15 representing foreign clubs. Most of them - five players - play for Italian clubs.

From the AS "Roma" club, to which also belongs the goalkeeper of the Lithuanian U-19 national team Tomas Švedkauskas, defenders Vassilis Torosidis and Panagiotis Tachtsidis were invited.

One of the Greek defensive stalwarts Sokratis Papastathopoulos recently left the Bremen "Werder" team and moved to the Champions League finalist Dortmund "Borussia".

Among the players competing at home, four belong to the Piraeus "Olympiacos" team, two - Thessaloniki PAOK, and one - Athens "Panathinaikos".

The team still includes two 2004 European champions - defenders Kostas Katsouranis (102 national team appearances) and Giorgos Karagounis (124).

Due to injuries or other reasons, the Greek national team will not be able to count on defenders Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Stelios Malezas, who play in Germany, and Avraamas Papadopoulos from Piraeus "Olympiacos", as well as defender Nikos Spyropoulos (Verona "Chievo", Italy).

The Lithuania and Greece national teams will play on June 7 from 21:45 at the Lithuanian Football Federation stadium in Vilnius. Tickets for the match are sold by "Bilietai.lt".
