Although it has been talked about for a long time that the "Milan" club, which took third place in the Serie A championship this season, will part ways with coach Massimiliano Allegri, on Sunday the Lombard club unexpectedly extended the contract with the 45-year-old specialist.

The sword of Damocles was hanging over M. Allegri since the beginning of the season, as in the first half of the championship "Milan" was long in the second half of the tournament table.

The third place and the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers next season "Milan" achieved almost miraculously in the last matches of the season, when they scored two goals in the final 6 minutes of the match against "Siena" and snatched victory.

Interest in M. Allegri's services was shown by the "Roma" club, and the media have repeatedly written that the relationship between the football specialist and the owner of the "Milan" club, Silvio Berlusconi, is particularly tense.

However, according to goal.com, after a long conversation with S. Berlusconi and "Milan" general manager Adriano Galliani, it was decided to extend the contract with the coach until the year 2015.

"With A. Galliani and M. Allegri, we had a long and good discussion, during which we discussed the past season and outlined the guidelines for the next season. We agreed on the rights and duties that the coach has towards the team and the team towards the coach.

"We also discussed the playing style and composition of the Milan club - we discussed the transfer window strategy and the coach's desires," said S. Berlusconi.

M. Allegri started working with the "Milan" club in 2010 and already won the "Scudetto" in his first season.
