After the end of the season, Madrid's "Real" club wasted no time in starting to strengthen the squad. The first summer purchase was Leverkusen's "Bayer" defender Daniel Carvajal.

The 21-year-old defender is a product of "Real"'s youth system. He spent the entire season in Germany, but the royal club did not miss the opportunity to bring back the shining right-back from the Bundesliga championship.

Carvajal had previously mentioned that he would like to return to Madrid one day. The Spanish vice-champions had the priority right to bring back the Spaniard according to the contract.

"We are very sorry that we won't have Daniel in the Bayer team anymore. Indeed, we have known for a long time that the player will return to Real, so we just wish the greatest success to this player," said Bayer's sports director.

According to the official announcement from the German club, "Los Blancos" paid 6.5 million euros for D. Carvajal.

The Spanish national team player under 21 years of age played 32 matches and scored one goal during the season in the Bayer team.
