The Lithuanian national football team gathered in Vilnius on Monday to prepare for the upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifying match against Greece.
Before the training camp, the team suffered some losses. Defender Vytautas Andriuškevičius did not join the camp due to an injury sustained in the Swedish cup final. Defender Arvydas Novikovas is in Vilnius only for a medical examination - it is unlikely that he will be able to join the team.
The team was joined by two members of Vilnius "Žalgiris" - defender Vaidotas Šilėnas and defender Mantas Kuklys.
On Monday evening, the team arrived at the LFF Stadium for training. Players who played in Polish and Lithuanian clubs over the weekend had a lighter workload and trained separately. The main group was made up of players who finished their national championships earlier.
Defender Mantas Fridrikas could not participate in the first training session because he played in the Lithuanian championship match for "Šiauliai" on Monday.
Defender Tomas Mikuckis and defender Edgaras Česnauskis are expected to return to Lithuania on Tuesday. Both Lithuanians represented their clubs in playoff matches for a spot in the Russian "Premier" League on Monday and will have a few hours journey back to Lithuania.
The match between the Lithuanian and Greek national teams will take place on June 7 at the LFF Stadium, starting at 9:45 PM. Tickets are available at "Bilietai.lt".
