Cs.Laszlo's goal - to defeat the Greeks and learn Lithuanian © EuroFootball.com

"Good evening. I am slowly learning Lithuanian," - greeted in Lithuanian the press conference started by Csaba Laszlo, the head coach of the Lithuanian national team, which is preparing the Lithuanian team for the important World Cup qualifying match against the Greek national team starting next Monday. In order for Csaba Laszlo to not only greet, but also communicate with journalists in Lithuanian, the national team must make an effort. A victory against the Greeks would be a great motivation for the coach to grab a Lithuanian language dictionary and actively learn the language. A little earlier, during one press conference, Cs. Laszlo promised that if Lithuania were to take second place in the World Cup qualifying group, the Hungarian coach would intensively study Lithuanian. The leader of the team, Marius Stankevicius, did not forget the coach's promise during Thursday's press conference before the upcoming match against the Greeks. "We will try our best so that the coach speaks Lithuanian when he comes back next time," - said M. Stankevicius. Tactics will differ from the Piraeus match Cs. Laszlo himself is optimistically inclined before the match with the Greek team, which is currently in second place in Group G, and hopes for a different result than the match between the two teams held in September last year. "On Friday, we will try to play a more open style. Looking at the opponents, the clubs they play for, you will see that we will face experienced players who represent strong Italian and Scottish clubs. However, football is played for 90 minutes, we should not focus on individual players, we will pay attention to the whole team," - answered Cs. Laszlo to the question about which players of the Greek team can cause the most trouble. "There is a good mood in our team, I believe in my players," - said the coach. The strategist pointed out that the match will be refereed by Olegario Benquerenca from Portugal, and the Greeks are coached by Fernando Santos, also from Portugal. "It is a very strange decision, I cannot understand it. "Speaking about our tactics, it is not so important to play with one or two attackers, the essence is for the players to play as a team, put all their effort into it. We do not have many choices on the bench. Maybe we will play with two forwards," - said Cs. Laszlo. Playing with a burning heart despite the lack of match rhythm Marius Stankevicius, the defender of the Lithuanian national team and the Roma's Lazio team, spoke about the good atmosphere in the team and the determined players of the national team. During training, the long-time national team player encouraged the team several times to put in more effort and energy for the favorable result on Friday. "I feel good, I have played several matches this season. Maybe I didn't have a tight match rhythm, but it won't hurt me if the coach includes me in the lineup. Coming together a few days before the match, it is difficult to immediately find playing connections. However, all national teams face this, it is a short time during which the coach must assemble the game. Our team is truly wonderful, ready to put in all efforts and achieve a positive result. One that would allow the coach to speak Lithuanian at the next press conference," - said M. Stankevicius. According to him, the artificial pitch will not give either team an advantage and both teams will face equal conditions. "It is most pleasant to play where we are most supported. In the recent past, fans happily attended matches. I believe that on Friday we will also receive support from our fans. It is nice that now we can choose where to play - in Kaunas, Vilnius, or Marijampole. We should be happy about that. More stadiums could appear in other cities, where we could visit and popularize this sport," - said M. Stankevicius during the press conference.
