The best player of the 2012-2013 German championship season was chosen as the attacking midfielder Franck Ribery from Munich's "Bayern".
In a survey of more than 200 colleagues, traditionally organized by "Kicker", the Frenchman received 29% of the votes and with a huge margin surpassed the second place attacker of Dortmund's "Borussia", Robert Lewandowski (17%). Third in the survey was another "Bayern" midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger (12%).
Meanwhile, the best goalkeeper was recognized as Manuel Neuer, narrowly beating the goalkeeper of "Borussia", Roman Weidenfeller, and the surprise winner as coach was Christian Streich, surpassing Jupp Heynckes. The team led by Streich, "Freiburg", sensationally finished the season in fifth place.
Ribery scored ten goals during the season and provided fifteen assists, while "Bayern" triumphed not only in the national championships but also in the country's cup tournament and the UEFA Champions League.
A few days ago, the French national team member extended his contract with the club until 2017.
