Ambrosini's career could turn towards England (AFP) Veteran Massimo Ambrosini is leaving the "Milan" club.
The 36-year-old team captain's contract has expired and was not renewed: "Our paths separate with him," confirmed vice president Adriano Galliani.
The Italian spent 18 years in the Milan team, to which he arrived from "Cesena" in 1995. However, in the 1997-1998 season, he was loaned to the "Vicenza" team, and now he is linked to a move to London's "West Ham" and several teams in the United States and Canada.
During his time with "Milan", he won the "Serie A" championship four times, the UEFA Champions League twice, the Italian and World Club championships once each. In total, he played 489 matches and scored 36 goals.
Many were surprised by the appointment of the new captain - another midfielder Ricardo Montolivo, who arrived at the club just a year ago.
